    On July 30, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division discovered that a sex offender registered in Beaufort County had failed to notify the Sheriff's Office of an address change. The Patrol Division at the Sheriff's Office performs routine checks on registered sex offenders to confirm they are living at the addresses they have provided. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation and conducted interviews.

    As a result of the investigation, Investigator Ernest Moore applied for and obtained warrants charging Terrance Moore, age 26, of West 8th Street in Washington, with one count of Failure to Register Change of Address as a Sex Offender.

    Moore was arrested by the Pitt County Sheriff's Office on Nov. 30, and is currently being held in their Detention Center under a $65,000 secured bond for this and other charges.
